mum knows best

May 11, 2009

When I took my cream coloured pair of heels out of my bag, there were stains on it from wearing it to work the last time. I tried wiping it with damp cloth, lightly scratching it. Nothing worked.

Had to march to mum with the stained pair of heels in my hand, sulking. Mum took it from my hands, analysed it at all angles, poked at the specimen then prescribed the solution.

She told me to use nail polish remover. I then proceeded to get my nail polish remover and did what I had to do.

It worked like a charm.

run

April 8, 2009

Wow I absolutely adore this song. I don’t know how many gazillion times I’ve played it this week. It first got to me as my bro and I were at Timbre on Saturday and EIC came on to play this song. I’m HOOKED.

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I’ll be right beside you dear

Louder louder
And we’ll run for our lives

We couldn’t resist going to Timbre cos we had a hotel room booked at the fullerton to celebrate dad’s 60th birthday. How amazing my dad looks, at such an age. (: I can’t believe how we’re all growing up so fast and my parents still look so awesome. My dad truly spoils me and I love him so. (: He’ll be there to stuff cash in my wallet though I insist I don’t need it. He’ll be there to get me to eat vitamins. He’ll be there to agree to whatever I say. If I stare at something in a mall for more than a minute, he’ll ask me to get it and say he’ll pay for it.

[NOTE: This is not to say I AM spoilt, despite such behaviour cos I normally insist the opposite!]

The only time I remember him leaving us was when he was sent to US for work for two weeks. I was probably about 5 and I cried so hard at the airport as he put me up on the trolley and hugged me before he left. <3 Dad!

In other news (quite the contrary), I’m currently crazily excited about exchange since I’ve finally received some notification from ESSEC that I’ve been nominated as an exchange student and the procedures will come, soon after exams. (:

And school begins on 31st August and I’ve to be there by 25th August to move into hall (if I’m gonna stay in hall), and orientation begins 26th August. Looks confirmed that I’ll be gone for my birthday. Will probably travel about 2 weeks ahead of the commencement of school.

Fall break’s in October 26-31. :D Public Holidays on Nov 1 & 11. Halloween partaaay hello! (: Oktoberfest? Hmmm!

Exams end on 18th Dec! GOSH. Definitely spending Christmas there. Maybe countdown? No idea. I’m so excited!!!

PS: The Hills Season 5 is out, omg. Can’t wait for school to end to watch it. :X

PPS: Had an absolutely dreadful night. Head was throbbing with pain, I was finding much difficulty sleeping, breaking out into cold sweat, losing the energy to do anything. Felt like throwing up too. Thankfully it all went away this morning. WHEEEEEEEEEEEW. Okay time to go memorise some speech for later.

critic of the year

March 13, 2009

my brother was trying to get me interning opportunities at a company where his ex-girlfriend works at now. and while trying to educate me with what I should do in order not to humiliate him,

I said,

‘does my reasoning normally end up being bimbotic?’

He said,

‘you’re a blonde who found black hair dye’

!!!

And that’s not all.

I said,

‘YOU ARE SO MEAN. HMPH.’

He said,

‘Nah uh!’

I said,

‘YAH UH!’

He said,

‘ah see see?! i was testing you and you FELL for it like you’re on 6inch heels’

I rest my case. I should just go to Heidi Montag’’s ex-firm Brent Bolthouse in LA. Bye guys.

December 25, 2008

Wow it’s been a while. And since it’s an hour and a half past midnight, it’s christmas time! (: can’t believe the highly anticipated holiday was here, with all the fun and cheer and usually the anticipation is greater than the day itself.

but it was determined to enjoy it. :D and i did! whee! but here’s what happened the days leading up to this day!

This was last saturday’s dinner (with keith)..

cafecartel1

cafecartel2

a delightful cafe cartel at siglap, all empty and lovely. :)

monday was quite a day! left for school really early in the morning, went for volleyball. unfortunately we lost the match at quarter finals. ): then went for an entire day of scrabble and boggle before heading down to yio chu kang for og christmas dinner! seriously, tampines to boon lay to yio chu kang. sheesh. :X

quite enjoyed it because it was my first real christmas party without my family. ((: we had sushi and strange sakae sushi pizza and turkey and gift exchange, etc. (: and the first pic was really of us watching xiao niang re but that’s beside the point.. :X

tuesday, met dear sweet aileen for dinner at disney cafe at anchorpoint and to my absolute delight, they were showing high school musical 2! we practically stayed to watch the entire show. muahahha. i DO like that show! i know everyone hates vanessa hudgens and all but i have absolutely nothing against her. pfft. and aileen was fab company, listening patient to my never ending rattling on and on and on and on…. ((: fun night!

today bro and i decided to get our own christmas dinner so we went down to the supermarket and bought a couple of stuff and came back to prepare and this was our dinner. :D YUM.

christmasdinner

followed by seige’s and my christmas eve tradition, on the 4th or 5th year now… the starbucks visit! we spent about 2 hours in starbucks alone. we lost our telepathy for a while but we’re still as silly as ever. love how the chemistry never goes away. (: if seige were a guy and unrelated to me, i’d be marrying her.

home sweet home

November 19, 2008

after spending 10 days away from home despite being in the same country… :X

i had a splendid time today (: i returned to an empty house, went straight to my parents’ room, turned on the air con and watched some tv! (mtv, no less!) boy was it good!

and when daddy returned, he gave me a big hug. (((: he has only hugged me twice in my life. once at the worst point of my life, once today. it felt good. i was a small girl again ((:

i then proceeded to follow him around the kitchen and helped him while he cooked. yes, my dad can cook. heh! he’s quite a smart humble fellow. he just cooks whatever comes to his head. long time ago, he craved for fish ball noodles, and cooked it the style they did outside. today he craved for gingerish-greenpeasinfested fried rice and whipped it up. i don’t always like it though but it was fun peeling prawns, washing rice and cracking eggs for him. hahaha!

dad was unhappy at a point where he was telling me mum would be back late cos since she went back to work she’s been coming back at 8. but the moment dad was done cooking around half past six, mum came back! what great timing! ((:

and my mum’s welcome was, “hello! how are you!” hahaha! and we had a long dinner cos mum had so much to tell me. mostly about my gran, who is staying with my uncle for now…

so we left to visit her! and she’s doing so much better now. gosh, she could even get up on her own!! and walk on her own!! just two weeks back, i literally carried her out of bed!

everything’s great today! ((: it’s good to be home! gosh, wonder if i’ll survive exchange programs!

welcome to the world

October 25, 2008

My cousin gave birth to a little precious baby boy, Marcus, on wednesday, 22nd October 2008. Exactly two months after my birthday! Haha!

And… That makes him the third marcus I know. Hrm.

This is the trivial part. My cousins are stealing all the names I like! I liked Lauren for a girl and my niece got named Lauren. I liked Mark for a guy and my nephew got named Marcus. I reckon she’s gonna call him Marc all the time, SO IT’S THE SAME.

Pffft.

When my time comes I’ll just need to go to the library and borrow the big book of children’s names.

I’m such a boring person, sheesh. LOL.

Welcome to the world, little buddy (:

korkor

September 9, 2008

It was my brother’s birthday yesterday! (:

He turns a really old age. =\ Which I will soon turn. *sigh* The ageing worries. (lol)

Anyhow, a big shout out because he is probably one with the most amount of influence on me in my family. In terms of financial wise, academic wise, love wise… he’s still got the biggest hold on me and he was probably the one who steered me in my current situation, wherever I am.

Even stuff like when we go shopping, I tend to buy stuff he says is nice because his taste can be trusted. Sadly we don’t go shopping anymore because his bimbo days have been phased out.

(Though he still watches The Hills. Speaking of The Hills, the last episode was HILARIOUS. Okay, digressed.)

And we’ve both been so busy and I hardly see him anymore because when I’m home, he’s not and vice versa. But when we’re both at home, he’ll still strum the guitar for me to sing and go EEK at my singing though I’m sure he’s just being a big brother. Heh heh.

Best brother ever…

(I think.)

Many (many) years later…
